Filler, Firefly- Page 1

Martin's Comments:
Nothing much to say on this particular page, but both Adam and I are very happy with how this sequence as a whole came out.

The man in the last panel is called Firefly. We'll be finding out more about him as this segment goes on, but he has appeared previously in the background.

Initially we had him grey-haired there, as is proper, but eventually we realized he was too young at the time for that and so we went back and edited it. Still, as you can see he was around during Miss Mania and Bell's days, and has previously met them.

Adam's Comments:
Yeah, I really love this sequence. Great writing, features two of my favorite characters in the comic talking to each other, and whole thing was just nice to draw.

Firefly was fun designing. We'd seen him before, and I'd done sort of a bust-shot of him too, but the whole costume came out really neat. I tried putting him in kind of a Kendo Armor get-up; something that looked regal but was also functional in a firefight.

Dunno what I was thinking with that random superhero in the second panel, though. He's not anyone important (otherwise he'd have come out more impressive), but just someone I doodled really quick.
