Alex sure does experience a lot involving death over the course of this day. This conversation here, then the stuff with Sareena later... If you don't know what I mean by that, check out the current Black Princess chapter.
Yeah, sure this question's been hanging over a lot of people's heads over the course of the story so far. Does Sarabeth have something in mind for that? Stay tuned to see.
We'll be coming back to the school aspect of Alex's life as Dorothy soon enough, incidentally. There is kind of a reason that's been saved for a bit to really get too far into beyond all of the establishment of Starchild and the central premise we've been doing, but it'll be a little while longer before I can really get into that.
Also one thing seen here, that's come up previously, is that when outside of his comfort zone Alex doesn't really have that much self-esteem. That's far from the only reason he has for working in his chosen field, but it is noticeable that when trying to do something else Alex doesn't think a lot of himself.
Adam's Comments:
Heheh... Yeah, kinda picked that up about Alex, but it's sorta underplayed in a few ways. It's one of the touches that I felt always made the character pretty endearing. That said, I also like all the touches to how Alex's body is banged up from his years as super-hero, which is a good touch and provides some nice comparison.
Heheh... Y'know, it's sorta neat that even though I have trouble juggling the events of the comic along with my schoolwork, Alex has the same problem. ^^ Probably harder on him since he clearly hates school more (Can't say I disagree- I loathed high school), plus I feel I'm pretty capable in most subjects, excluding math.
Plus I also like how his main concern is how this will all effect Dorothy. Again, very much the heart of a hero. Heh... Yeah, one of the things I like the most about the comic is Alex's own strength as a character. Page's doing a good job reminding me of that.
