Ugh... My brain hurts and I feel discouraged. Can't I do comments later?
This page was pretty low-maintenance. Most I had to work on was the stuff outside Dorothy's window. I will say I was pretty happy to finally end the first day, though. Mostly because I wouldn't have to draw Alex in that outfit anymore. I was really, really sick of that tank-top and jeans by the end of this.
It was even worse for poor Martin, who does the colors. He was so sick of the color pallette and having to recycle those exact shades page after page by this point. Poor guy. You'll notice Dorothy's hair and clothes are a slightly different color here, that'd because he re-did the pallette. Just to keep from dying from boredom.
Martin's Comments:
Well, the palette was just as much edited because I didn't think the colors were perfect; thought there was room for improvement, and sure enough wound up with a better set. Besides, the real torture of recycling colors for people and places comes at the end of this chapter. One long scene there.
This was supposed to mark the starting point of Black Princess, but it has been held up a bit by a few factors. The plan now is to start in a few weeks.
